We were scheduled to go for our first studio field trip to ‘The Crystal’, London. Our field trip consisted of one of our director and few of our architectural assistants. We were joined by our Studio tutor Dr. Alessandro Melis, who organised the trip in association with the school of architecture, University of Portsmouth.
During the visit, we learned different environmental strategies to tackle the current issues that has been in presence in the dense part of a mega cities. We learned many important problems and the solutions that will create a clean and sustainable environment using future technologies. It was very important for us because our studio main objective is to create a future sustainable design that tackles the ongoing climatic problems for our growing cities.

The use of green and reducing carbon footprints with future technologies is our main aim and the establishment of our studio. We are always pushing for innovative ideas and the recyclable materials that can sustain human life and creates a language for a human communication. The technology we have currently was being explored and pushed to its new boundaries for a better performances and can be made affordable for average human population. The reuse of water after treatment and filtration is a very new way to reduce the stress on our earth. The method is being implemented on its building with the reusable water used in toilets to flush after treatment and filtration on site, it is transferred back to the use in the toilets again.
Again with the use of solar panels, the walls design in an angle to maximise solar gain is also another feature of the building showing sustainable characteristics. It is small gesture for a bigger cause. All of our architectural assistants were very inspired by such approach and help us understand the improvement that we have to implement in our long architectural journey. It was an amazing day, luckily, the sun was shining… perhaps a sign tale that things are going perfectly sound.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year 2018.
